Intel Core i9-12900KS benchmarked at 5.3GHz

The Intel Core i9-12900KS isn't widely available yet, but some have managed to get their hands on the CPU early. One such user put their chip to the test, revealing some impressive benchmark scores. 

Reddit user u/Seby9123 posted the scores achieved by the system with the CPU overclocked to an all-P-core frequency of 5.3GHz and with E-cores disabled. At stock settings, the Core i9-12900KS scored 2,162 points in the single-core test and 29,164 in the multi-core test.

Comparing these scores (DDR5-6200 32-38-38-76) with our data (DDR5-5200 38-38-38-82), the Core i9-12900KS appears to be the best consumer CPU in Cinebench R23 and should overtake the Ryzen 9 5950X.

The Intel Core i9-12900KS is due to release in April, so we'll have more benchmarks and performance comparisons in the weeks ahead.

KitGuru says: It was pretty obvious the Core i9-12900KS would perform slightly better than the “K” model. Whether or not the performance will be enough to justify the price premium still remains to be seen.
