Star Wars Jedi: Survivor announced with 2023 release date

After months of rumours regarding the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, Respawn has finally pulled the curtain on its upcoming action-adventure title. Named Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Respawn's new Star Wars game has been confirmed to be coming in 2023.

Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC next year, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being developed by the same studio behind the prequel. Stig Asmussen, creative director of Fallen Order and God of War 3, will return as game director.

The story of the new Star Wars game will start five years after the events of Fallen Order. You'll play with Cal Kestis, one of the last Jedi in the galaxy, accompanied by the BD-1 bot. Together, they will travel and journey through stars and planets, allowing Kestis to develop new skills and become one with the Force while being chased down by The Empire.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is just one of three Star Wars games currently in development at Respawn. The studio is also working on a shooter and a strategy game.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
