Acer today announced a whole host of interesting and diverse gaming products. While much of the attention was drawn towards the company’s new glasses-free 3D display technology ‘SpatialLabs’, the hardware manufacturer also showed off a plethora of more standard – yet equally as exciting – laptops to suit your individual needs.
Alongside the announcement of the Predator Helios 300 SpacialLabs Edition, Acer also unveiled their latest iteration of the premium slim gaming laptop series, the Predator Triton 300 SE. This newly announced 2022 model improves on last year’s release in a number of crucial ways. Alongside the expected upgrades to the processor, RAM and storage, the biggest improvement comes in the form of the new displays which takes last year’s 14inch 1920×1080 144 Hz display and upgrades it to either a 2880×1800 90Hz OLED display, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut or a 2560×1600 165Hz IPS display (both at 500 nits of brightness).
Acer also announced a 16 inch variant of the Predator Triton 300 SE, which thanks to the increased footprint of the device, allows for even higher-end hardware. With up to an RTX 3070 Ti, 32 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz system memory and the Intel Core i7-12700H, you won’t be hurting for performance. The final major difference with the larger device is the removal of the OLED screen option, however instead, the IPS display has been upgraded to an even smoother 240Hz.
The rest of Acer’s laptop line-up also saw updates, with the high-end ConceptD 5 creator-focused laptops seeing the expected upgrades to the processor, RAM and more – though the real star of the show are the devices’ new 3840×2400 OLED displays which pairs excellently with the laptop’s target market of creators. You will be paying a pretty penny for this hardware however, with the ConceptD 5 Pro starting at 2599 EUR.
For those wanting a more casual laptop experience, Acer also updated their Swift (high-end consumer laptop), Vero (eco-friendly and price conscious) and Spin (360 convertible) series of devices.
Though these may not be revolutions in design, these machines do represent the company’s most refined laptop experience yet.
