Skyrim Anniversary Edition might be heading to Nintendo Switch

Last year for the 10th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda released the game once again, replacing the ‘Special Edition' on Xbox, PlayStation and PC with a new ‘Anniversary Edition' with some new tweaks and additional content. The Anniversary Edition was never announced for Switch, despite the Special Edition being available on the system – but that may be changing soon.

This week, Switch enthusiasts discovered that Skyrim Anniversary Edition was recently rated for the Nintendo Switch in Brazil. Typically, once a game has been evaluated by ratings boards, an official announcement isn't too far behind. Currently, Bethesda is set to make new game announcements at the Xbox/Bethesda showcase on the 12th of June.

The Skyrim Anniversary Edition includes all of the previous DLCs for the game, as well as a selection of 500 mods from the Creation Club, Bethesda's paid modding platform. While Skyrim Special Edition on PC, Xbox and PlayStation supported mods, the Switch version does not, likely due to file size and the Switch's relatively low amount of internal storage.

Bethesda has not officially announced any plans to bring Skyrim Anniversary Edition to the Switch, but if this proves true, it will be interesting to see if any content had to be removed due to the console's limitations.

KitGuru Says: I've sunk more than a few hours into the Anniversary Edition since it came out. The new content is nice, but if you already own the Special Edition on console, it might not be worth repurchasing again.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
