Nvidia may replace GTX 1050 Ti with GTX 1630

This week, reports claim that Nvidia has a new GeForce GTX series graphics card on the way. Years on from the initial launch of the GTX 16 series, Nvidia might be planning to introduce a new SKU, the GTX 1630.

According to VideoCardz, the new GPU would replace the GTX 1050 Ti. As such, the GTX 1630 should be priced accordingly. Based on the GTX 1650's pricing, the MSRP of the new entry-level GPU will likely stay below the $190 mark, putting it in the same price segment as the Radeon RX 6400.

The specifications of the GPU are still unknown, but it's said that it will be based on the Turing architecture (TU117-xxx). Moreover, based on the specifications of the GTX 1650, it's fair to assume the TDP will be below 75W. As for the memory configuration, it's hard to guess, considering there are models of the GTX 1650 with GDDR5 and GDDR6 memory. As for availability, the report doesn't mention a release date or period.

If the rumour proves to be accurate, this will be the first Turing-based GPU in three years, with the last one being the GTX 1650 in 2019 (subsequent models released in 2020).
