Concept art for Daybreak’s upcoming Marvel MMO may have leaked

Late last year, it was confirmed that Daybreak Games has begun working on a new Marvel MMO as one of several new projects currently in development. Now, the first concept art for the game has leaked, giving us a glimpse at some of the characters we can expect to appear.

Enad Global 7 (EG7) acquired Daybreak Games back in 2020 for $300 million. Since then, Daybreak has completely restructured, with several studios under its wing, all working on multiple projects. One such project is a new Marvel MMO to rival Daybreak's other superhero MMO, DC Universe Online.

In the gallery above you will find some concept art from Daybreak's Marvel project, showcasing Iron Man, Captain America and Red Skull, which recently began doing the rounds on Reddit. However, it is worth noting that there is some debate over when this concept art was produced. It is possible that this was concept art for a previously cancelled Marvel project at Daybreak, prior to the MMO getting the greenlight.

As for when we may see this Marvel MMO in action, it will be quite some time. Last year during its earnings report, EG7 described the game as a “long-term development effort with a AAA budget”. Add on the fact that MMOs typically take longer to make due to the scale and amount of content required, and we can surmise that this MMO might not be ready until 2025, and it might take even longer than that.

This project has not been officially revealed yet and has only been mentioned to investors during earnings reports, which are publicly available.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
