Asus announces new Zenbook family of laptops

Today during its ‘Pinnacle of Performance' digital event, ASUS launched an all-new line-up of laptops for 2022. We've already had a good look at the new Vivobook Pro and Vivobook S OLED laptops, so now it is time to turn our attention to the latest Zenbook models.

The Asus Zenbook has been redesigned this year, with new Zenbook Pro and S series models on offer, so you can choose between extreme performance, or something thinner and lighter, but still powerful enough to get the job done.

First up, we have the new flagship – the Zenbook  Pro 16X OLED, with new AAS Ultra design. This is billed as a ‘no compromise' creator laptop, built to house up to 12th Gen Core i9 CPUs and up to Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics. Under the hood, you'll find everything being cooled by the new IceCool Pro cooling system, which uses two IceBlade fans, each with 97 3D curved blades, a vapor chamber and a 5mm heat pipe to transfer and dissipate heat efficiently. The crowning achievement of this laptop is its OLED display, which is the world's first 16:10 16″ 4K OLED with Dolby Vision HDR and Pantone colour validation.

Other laptops in the Zenbook Pro range will pack OLED displays ranging from 14.5-inches to 16-inches, Intel 12th Gen Core series processors, and integrated graphics (or an RTX 3050 in the Zenbook Pro 17), all in a thin and light form factor.

The Zenbook S series is gaining two new 13.3-inch models this year too – the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED and the Zenbook S 13 OLED. As the name implies, the Flip model has a 360-degree ErgoLift hinge, so you can use it in laptop, tablet or tabletop mode. The standard model has a traditional laptop design.

The Flip comes with up to an Intel 12th Gen Core i7 processor, Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a microSD card reader and uses integrated graphics. Meanwhile, the Zenbook S 13 OLED comes with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6800U processor, with integrated Radeon 680M graphics.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
