XCOM 2 will be free on the Epic Games Store

Each week, the Epic Games Store offers a number of games entirely for free to those with a registered Epic Games account. Right now, you can get your hands on Rogue Legacy and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, with next week’s free games now revealed.

Rogue Legacy is (to the surprise of no one) a rogue-lite game “where anyone can be a hero”. Developed by Cellar Door Games, the game received consistent and high praise from critics and fans alike – spawning a sequel which is set to come out later this month.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a mystery-focused ‘walking simulator’ in which you play as “an occult-minded detective Paul Prospero, [where you must] piece together the truth behind Ethan’s disappearance — and the fate of his family“. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter won a BAFTA for ‘Best Game Innovation’ in 2015.

With this week’s free games now available to add to your library, Epic Games revealed next week’s free titles: The classic strategy game XCOM 2 and strategy-survival rogue-lite ‘Insurmountable'.

Rogue Legacy and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter are available to download for free from now until the 14th of April at 4pm BST.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
