E3 to return as an ‘all digital’ event in June

Back in January, the ESA announced that E3 would be cancelled again this year, with no in-person events set to take place for the third year in a row. Now, we seem to have confirmation that we'll be getting an ‘all digital' E3 again this year, similarly to E3 2021.

The ESRB has reportedly been emailing developers and publishers this week to confirm plans for an all-digital E3 this year. Prior to this, it was thought that E3 would be scrapped entirely this year, with publishers holding their own events.

It is expected that E3 plans will be officially confirmed next week, with companies like Microsoft and Nintendo set to align their own summer showcases to run alongside the event, which should take place in June as usual.
