Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 likely releasing in 2023

Following on from the success of Respawn’s first Star Wars game, it was expected that we would eventually see a sequel to Fallen Order. As it turns out, Respawn is actually juggling three new Star Wars games. In the case of Fallen Order 2, it might be a bit further away from release than anticipated, with EA hiring for a number of key positions.

Over the course of game development, there is staff turnover, but ideally for lead and senior positions, you want the same group to stick around. While initial rumours indicated that Jedi Fallen Order could release as early as this year, Respawn is still advertising for some important roles, including a Senior Cinematic Designer, Senior Level Designer, Senior Lighting Artist and a Senior VFX Artist. Based on job listings, the studio is also looking for additional writers, artists and designers to join Respawn's LA-based studio to work on the game.

With all of that in mind, it would seem that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 may be targeting 2023 rather than 2022. In addition, the studio is working on a new first-person shooter game based in the Star Wars universe, and the team is working with former Firaxis Games staff on a Star Wars strategy game too.

With Star Wars day coming up in a couple of months, we should get more updates and teasers for new games, TV series, comics, books and Star Wars films.

KitGuru Says: Respawn did a great job with Fallen Order and hopefully, the team will be able to recapture the magic with a sequel.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
