007 GoldenEye remaster coming soon

It has been just over a year since Rare's 007 GoldenEye remaster resurfaced online with fresh leaks and even a playable build. Now a year later, it looks like GoldenEye will be re-releasing, and it could be dropping within the next few weeks.

Rare originally began working on this remaster back in 2006 for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade, but the project was scrapped. Back in January, there was evidence to suggest that the project has been picked back up and is nearing completion, with new achievements for the game being listed.

Now speaking on a Giant Bomb stream, Jeff Grubb has revealed (via VGC) that he's heard from sources that Microsoft will be announcing the game, and it is coming soon, possibly within the “next couple of weeks”.

Nothing has been announced officially yet, but the 007 GoldenEye remaster is expected to release on both Xbox and PC, as well as the Nintendo Switch. The game should also be a day-one title for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

KitGuru Says: The updated achievement list for GoldenEye was strong evidence that a re-release is on the way. Now it seems we won't have to wait too much longer to see it officially announced.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
