AMD planning to launch Radeon RX 6300

The AMD Radeon RX 6000 series line-up already has plenty of options, but there's still room to grow. Besides all the new mobile SKUs confirmed by AMD and the rumoured desktop refresh, AMD may have accidentally confirmed it will launch a new entry-level card, the Radeon RX 6300.

Just yesterday, Komachi Ensaka (via VideoCardz) spotted an unannounced graphics card in the patch notes for the latest version of AMD's GPU Performance API. In these notes, you can read that AMD GPU Performance API 3.10 supports “additional GPUs and APUs, including AMD Radeon RX 6300, 6400, and 6500 series GPUs”.

Considering this will most likely be an entry-level graphics card, it will be based on the Navi 24 GPU (with less than 768 stream processors enabled). This means it will be built on the TSMC N6 node and should feature 16MB of Infinity Cache. Considering the RX 6400 is a 4GB graphics card, we would expect the RX 6300 to feature 2GB of GDDR6 memory on a 64-bit memory bus, but that's just a guess.

While this GPU has been listed by AMD, it could end up being an OEM-only product. However, as we saw with the RX 6400, it could come to the DIY market later.

KitGuru says: If the AMD Radeon RX 6400 releases priced around the £120 mark, there's still plenty of room to put the RX 6300 below that. Below £100, Nvidia doesn't have many solutions besides the GT 1030, making the Radeon RX 6300 an option worth considering. However, Intel might also introduce a new SKU in this segment over the summer, so we could see some good competition in the low-budget category.
