HP launches X27q – combining understated design with gaming-grade specs

HP has been revamping its line-up of gaming monitors recently, with the new understated HP X34 and HP X32 displays. Now, following the game theme, HP is also launching the X27q, using the same simple design, while packing gaming-oriented features, like QHD resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. 

Ignoring the display size, the X27q specifications are pretty much the same as the X32. Both feature an IPS panel with a 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC), 2560×1440 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and 1ms G2G response time. Moreover, it has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 400nits of peak brightness, providing 99% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut.

Also similar to the X32, the X27q is certified by TÜV Rheinland for meeting the Eyesafe standards and offers support for AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free gaming sessions. Users may configure the monitor settings using the Omen Gaming Hub or the OSD.

For connectivity, you get a 3.5mm audio jack, a DisplayPort 1.4, and an HDMI 2.0 port. As for the stand, it's slightly better than the X32's, allowing users to tilt, pivot, and adjust the screen's height. The monitor is also compatible with third-party VESA 100x100mm arms and stands.
