Intel Xe-HPG series gaming GPU specifications begin to leak

A new leak detailing some specifications of the Intel Xe-HPG (DG2) graphics card line-up has surfaced. As per the leak, the Intel Xe-HPG series will feature 6 models, starting with a 96 EU GPU with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, up to a 512 EU GPU with 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

This leak comes from @OneRaichu, who posted an encoded message on Twitter. Soon after the posting, the message was decoded by @harukaze5719 and @hougetsu, revealing a specification list for six Intel Xe-HPG GPUs.

As per the specifications list, the entry-level Xe-HPG graphics will feature 96 EUs (768 streaming processors), a 64-bit memory bus and 4GB of VRAM. There will be another two SKUs with 4GB of VRAM, but one has 128 EUs (1024 streaming processors) and a 64-bit bus, while the other has 192 EUs (1536 streaming processors) and a 128-bit bus. In the mid-range segment, there is a SKU with 256 EUs (2048 streaming processors), 4GB or 8GB of VRAM, and a 128-bit bus, and another SKU with 384 EUs (3072 streaming processors), 6GB or 12GB of VRAM, and a 192-bit bus. Lastly, there's an SKU featuring 512 EUs (4096 streaming processors) paired with 8GB or 16GB of VRAM across a 256-bit bus.

The memory type hasn't been specified, but it's expected to be GDDR6. The performance of these graphics cards is still unknown, but judging from the memory configuration, the 512 EUs SKU could be looking to rival AMD's RX 6800 GPUs and Nvidia's RTX 3070 and 3080.

KitGuru says: What are your expectations for the upcoming Intel Xe-HPG GPUs? How competitive will they be up against Nvidia and AMD's current graphics cards?
