Battlefield 2042 beta could begin this week

Back in June, rumours began swirling that Battlefield 2042 would enter public beta testing in September. Now, it seems we have some more specific dates, with an early access beta set to begin as early as this week, followed by a full open beta later in the month.

Typically, DICE likes to beta test upcoming Battlefield games around six weeks before launch. With the game coming on the 22nd of October, beta testing would have to begin in September. According to sources, the early access beta for pre-order customers will begin on the 4th of September, while the full open beta will begin on the 6th of September. Beta testing would come to a close on the 11th of September.

Battlefield 2042 is releasing on the 22nd of October, unless you’re an EA Play subscriber. If you are a subscriber and pre-order the game, you will get access a full week early on the 15th of October. With that in mind, beta testing needs to begin sooner rather than later.

Battlefield 2042 has been in closed alpha testing for a couple of months now, which led to a slew of gameplay leaks as testers broke NDA. DICE has yet to officially announce dates for the Battlefield 2042 beta, but pre-loading has begun on Xbox consoles, indicating an official announcement very soon.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
