Valve facing Brexit issues with UK Valve Index repair requests

UK owners of Valve's VR headset, the Valve Index, are having some issues to kick off 2021. Due to Brexit and all of the associated changes in policies, Valve's UK RMA/returns system is having difficulties, leading to delays in repairs and replacements.

This was pointed out to VR enthusiasts over on Reddit, where u/Jamessuperfun shared a recent support email they received from Valve:

“We've initiated the RMA process for your headset and affected right controller, but the United Kingdom's recent exit from the European Union is affecting our RMA process. Unfortunately we're unable to finish the RMA set up until the issue is resolved.”

The email then goes on to say: “We are actively working with our distributor to resolve the issue. We'll update your ticket here with all of the RMA details as soon as the issues related to Brexit have been resolved.”

Unfortunately, no timeline is offered for when these Brexit issues might be resolved. The issue seems to be based on exporting the headsets to the repair centre outside of the UK. That's just one-way though, there could also be delays getting your headset back via customs. Valve has not offered an official statement on this matter at this time.

KitGuru Says: Have any of you recently picked up a Valve Index? Have you faced any issues with it?
