Gigabyte is readying up Brix Mini-PCs featuring AMD Renoir APUs

Gigabyte is refreshing the Brix line of Mini-PCs with AMD Renoir APUs, joining the ranks of the models with Intel Tiger Lake-U processors. These new Brix models haven't been fully detailed yet, but Gigabyte shared some of the specifications this week.

As per ComputerBase, the latest refresh to the Gigabyte Brix Mini-PCs saw new Intel CPUs introduced but the AMD powered model remained the same. That is changing soon with a new AMD Renior APU model, bringing the AMD side closer to the current-gen Intel Brix Mini-PCs.

Some of the features that both the Intel Tiger Lake and AMD Renoir APUs will share include WiFi 6 and PCIe 4.0 support, but the AMD models will also support up to 4x displays with 4K resolution, a 2.5Gb Ethernet interface, built-in Vega graphics and up to 8 cores and 16 threads on the CPU. Additionally, the new Gigabyte Brix models will be available in two sizes: slim and tall.

Gigabyte hasn't shared the pricing and availability details yet. The official product page is already online, but it doesn't show much besides a teaser of the new Brix models.

KitGuru says: Do you use a Mini-PC at work or at home? Are you thinking about upgrading soon to take advantage of newer CPU/APU technology?
