Days Gone is free this month on PlayStation Plus

Each month, PlayStation offers a number of games for free to all of those with a PlayStation Plus subscription. For the month of April, subscribers can get their hands on Days Gone, Oddworld: Soulstorm, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War. all three titles will be available from the 6th of April.

The headlining title for this month is Oddworld: Soulstorm. The game is described as an “action adventure platformer set directly after the events of 2014’s Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty” where “having undergone a transformation from clueless cog in a mega-corporate machine to unlikely hero and beacon of hope, Abe must now save his fellow Mudokons by any means necessary”. Oddworld: Soulstorm is launching day-and-date on PlayStation 5. While only playable on PS5, PS4 players can still redeem the game in preparation for if/when they do get one.

Days Gone is a first-party PS4 title which offered players an open world zombie game which can best be described as The Walking Dead mixed with Sons of Anarchy. Developed by Bend Studio, the game received mixed reviews at launch, though fan reception was much kinder. Furthermore, thanks to many patches and updates, the game is currently in a solid shape. PS5 players will even be able to play the game at 4K 60fps, though Days Gone still looks great on PS4.

The final game on offer is Zombie Army 4: Dead War. From the makers of the Sniper Elite series, Zombie Army 4 offers a “spine-chilling shooter” featuring “abominable occult enemies, epic weapons and a harrowing new campaign for 1-4 players.”

All three of these games will be available to purchase and download for free from the 6th of April until the 3rd of May – though they will remain in your library for as long as you are subscribed to PS Plus.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
