Blizzard announces Diablo 2: Resurrected

BlizzCon Online officially kicked off late last night and as previously rumoured, we did indeed get announcement for Diablo 2: Resurrected, a remaster of the fan-favourite ARPG for PC and consoles.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will be releasing for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch later this year. A final release date has not been announced, but we do know that there will be a technical alpha test, which you can sign up to take part in HERE.

The remaster takes the original 2D sprite-based graphics and upgrades it to full 3D physically based rendering. Other graphical improvements include dynamic lighting, revamped animations and spell effects and support for 4K resolution.

Vicarious Visions, which recently became a Blizzard studio, is working on Diablo 2: Resurrected. The idea is to overhaul the graphics without making major changes to gameplay, ensuring long-time fans are returning to the game they remember, just with a modern coat of paint.

KitGuru Says: Hopefully we'll get a more specific release date in the next few months. Are any of you looking forward to Diablo 2: Resurrected?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
