Sonic the Hedgehog movie sequel announced and dated

Many trepidatious fans were left surprised following the release of the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie. What was first mocked for its initial character design and tone following the original trailer eventually turned into a surprisingly funny family friendly film. Thanks to its commercial success, a sequel was all but confirmed. Now however, fans have an official release date to look forward to.

Making the announcement via a short teaser trailer, Paramount Pictures revealed that the Sonic the Hedgehog sequel, titled ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ will be coming to cinemas on the 8th of April 2022 – less than 2 years after the release of the first film.

Though the teaser trailer served as little more than a title and date reveal, it did indicate one specific detail, and that is the fact that Tails – Sonic’s best friend in the video games – will feature heavily in the sequel (as indicated by Tails’ tails in the title).

Though very little else is currently known about the film, a recent rumour has suggested that another classic Sonic character will make an appearance, namely Knuckles the Echidna. Furthermore, according to this rumour, Jason Momoa will be voicing the character – though all this should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Regardless, seeing Tails realised on the silver screen in a Sonic the Hedgehog film will surely be more than enough to get fans excited. Hopefully the sequel will maintain the fun quality of the first film.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
