Halo: Infinite is currently feature-complete

Following the less than stellar gameplay preview of Halo: Infinite last year, 343 Industries opted to delay the game by almost a full year. In order to keep fans updated on the game’s status however, the studio recently promised to offer monthly development updates. The first update has now gone live, revealing that the entirety of Infinite’s launch content is fully playable – alongside other tidbits.

In the first of many monthly “Inside Infinite” updates, 343i claimed that as of January 2021 “We have everyone fixing bugs on our launch content and some exciting efforts kicking off for future updates – like new vehicles, equipment, etc. But we’re pretty much playtesting a ton and looking for ways to polish and improve everything. All of our launch content is in-game and being played daily but it takes a strong effort to get something from 90% to a full 100% ship quality.”

This makes sense, especially considering the fact that the game was originally intended to launch during Holiday 2020. Still, it is good to see that the game is currently mostly feature complete, with the studio now ensuring that Halo: Infinite is as refined and as bug-free as possible.

Alongside some new renders, 343i also revealed that “In multiplayer, equipment is earned via combat and/or scavenging the playspace which brings a level of fairness and competition to the experience” – a feature which many Halo fans were eager to hear confirmation of.

Though many fans were understandably disappointed by the initial delay of Halo: Infinite, it is clear that 343i is using the much-needed extra time in a good way. The full (and lengthy) blog post can be found HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
