Dying Light 2 still coming, new announcements promised in 2021

Dying Light 2 was first announced back in 2018 with an impressive gameplay showcase full of mechanical improvements. Bringing these ambitious ideas to life was taking longer than anticipated though, leading to an indefinite delay back at the start of 2020. We've heard little about the game since, but it seems that that Dying Light 2 will return to the spotlight in 2021.

Among other gameplay improvements, Dying Light 2 aims to create a ‘huge matrix’ of player decisions that can impact the world and story as you combat the zombie infestation and help communities survive. The game was initially due to release in 2020 but was delayed indefinitely back in January 2020. A few months later in May 2020, we learned that the game was “in good shape” and still in development despite rumours of issues behind the scenes.

Writing on Discord, a Techland employee posted in the Dying Light server, announcing that the team has been “dying to update” us all on how the game is coming along. The good news is, these updates will finally begin rolling out in 2021.

We still have no word on whether or not Dying Light 2 will release next year, or if it will still come to last-gen consoles now that the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 have launched. We should learn more on that front in the months to come though.

KitGuru Says: Dying Light 2 had a very impressive gameplay showcase back in 2018, so it will be interesting to see what's changed and how the game looks now three years later. Did many of you play the original Dying Light? Are you looking forward to the upcoming sequel?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
