Katy Perry has announced her own video game

Katy Perry is an artist known best for her work in the music industry. It was therefore surprising and unexpected when the pop star announced that she would be releasing her own video game titled “Katy’s Quest” which sees Katy Perry take to the circus in order to help the acts ‘find their smile’. The game will be launching on the 28th of August in collaboration with Alienware.

Making the announcement on her Instagram and Twitter to her 100 million followers, Katy Perry said “Guess what? #SMILE [Perry’s latest album] ain’t the only thing dropping on Friday. #KatysQuest will be available on 8/28 at http://Alienware.com/Smile. Help me find my smile (& share smiles with @MusiCares and @ExtraLife4Kids) while u listen to the new record! @Alienware #Alienware #AlienwarePartner.”

As mentioned, Katy’s Quest is in collaboration with Alienware, and also ties to ExtraLife one of the biggest video game-based charities in the world —  raising over $70 million since 2008. While the game itself is relatively unremarkable – appearing to simply be a collection of carnival mini games it’s for a good cause.

Extra Life Day 2020 will be taking place on the 7th of November, when hundreds of streamers will take to Twitch and other platforms to raise money in support of “the Children's Hospital COVID-19 Impact Fund at 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.”
