Ubisoft delays Far Cry 6

Earlier this year, Ubisoft officially announced Far Cry 6 for PC and next-gen consoles. At the time, the game was also given a February 2021 release date. However, since then, the situation has changed, with Far Cry 6 now being officially delayed.

Far Cry 6 was initially due to release in late February but in an announcement today, the developers shared an update saying that they've been “given more time” and as such, the game will no longer be releasing on that date:

Far Cry 6 no longer has a release date, but Ubisoft has said in an earnings call that it is still part of its 2021-2022 fiscal year plans, meaning it will now release between April 2021 and the end of March 2022.

Chances are, the game will now be a Summer or Fall release in 2021. Other games planned for early 2021, like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, will still release as planned.

KitGuru Says: COVID-19 has impacted development teams across the world this year and it looks like the folks behind Far Cry 6 are no different. Hopefully this extra time allows the development team to deliver the game safely and in a polished state later in 2021.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
