Halo 4 PC beta kicks off today

At this point, the Master Chief Collection on PC is very close to completion. Halo Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST are all out on PC and soon, Halo 4 will be joining that list, with beta tests kicking off today.

If you are a Halo Insider, then you will want to check your emails for an invite to the new Halo 4 PC flight, which begins today. The test includes campaign missions, Spartan Ops, Forge mode with additional features and cross-play multiplayer.

As for multiplayer, you can expect the usual social game modes like Team Deathmatch, Free for All and Infection. There will be certain schedule windows for competitive matches in certain modes, so Insiders will want to check Halo Waypoint for the latest details.

Flighting begins today and should continue for at least the next couple of weeks. If all goes well, Halo 4 will be on PC sometime next month or in early December.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
