AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX surfaces, possibly launching next week

It looks like another 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper processor is on the way and thanks to forum users at Chiphell, there is photographic evidence to support this. A newly shared image doing the rounds online allegedly shows the unannounced AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX.

AMD has already released a series of Ryzen PRO CPUs and if this image, shared by users on Chiphell, is accurate, then it looks like a PRO series of Threadripper processors are also on the way. The folks at Videocardz may already have some additional information on this, claiming that the AMD TR PRO series will support up to 2TB RAM in an 8-channel memory configuration. This is significant, as current 3rd Gen Threadripper CPUs cap out at 256GB of RAM in 4-channel mode. Interestingly, features like this would put Threadripper on par with AMD EPYC processors, which are primarily used in servers.

We don't know what socket these Threadripper PRO CPUs will require, but perhaps these will call for the sWRX8 socket, which has been known about for some time but so far, has not been used.

Apparently, AMD is planning to announce the Threadripper PRO series next week on the 14th of July, so keep an eye out for more details then.
