Halo: Infinite is partnering with Monster Energy

While we don't yet know exactly when Halo: Infinite is launching, it hasn't stopped Microsoft from beginning to market the much-anticipated shooter. One way that the console manufacturer is drumming up excitement is through a partnership with Monster energy, which will allow fans to obtain double XP boosts, as well as in-game items such as skins.

Making the announcement, Microsoft said: “Over the past few weeks, consumers have seen something special appear on store shelves. Monster Energy and Halo Infinite have partnered together to bring a unique experience to cans emblazoned with the Master Chief, delivering exclusive in-game items as well as a unique Snapchat experience.”

Microsoft acknowledged the delay, saying “while Halo Infinite has been delayed to 2021, we are excited to share that our partnership with Monster Energy will bring together our iconic global brands across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe to celebrate the launch of Halo Infinite in 2021, and even offers a sneak peek at some exclusive new Halo Infinite multiplayer items.”

These aforementioned exclusive items include “Double XP Boosts” which “are for use in multiplayer to double the amount of experience points earned during the time the boost is active, and you get one boost per can. Yes, that means if you purchase a case of 24 cans, you will get a code that will unlock 24 Double XP Boosts from the receipt. Players can earn up to 60 hours of Double XP Boosts with their Monster Energy purchases.”

Furthermore, a number of in-game weapon skins and emblems, as well as bigger prizes such as Xbox Series X consoles and a free holiday can be obtained through a number of Monster Energy-related challenges – the details of which can be found HERE.

This isn't the first time that Monster Energy has partnered with major video game titles – in fact, the energy drinks company has its own video game! Either way, despite the delay, it appears the marketing wheels for Halo: Infinite are very much in motion.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
