Razer launches trio of peripherals for productivity

Today, Razer is stepping into a market segment we don't typically see from the company. Razer has a new trio of PC peripherals launching today, but rather than being aimed at gamers, these are squarely aimed at productivity and getting work done.

The Razer Productivity Suite aims to enhance workflow and reduce fatigue, starting with the new Pro Click mouse, which was designed in collaboration with Humanscale. For those who don't know, Humanscale is a global leader in workplace ergonomics. Joining the Pro Click mouse is the Pro Glide surface and the Pro Type keyboard. The Razer Productivity also implements some design flair, standing out from the typical ‘one-size-fits-all' designs you typically see in office products.

The Razer Pro Click Mouse is designed to minimise any health risks associated with long-term usage, like tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. It is rated for up to 50 million clicks and comes with Razer's Advanced 5G Optical Sensor. Here are the full specs:

  • Ergonomic Form Factor
  • Razer 5G Advanced Optical Sensor
  • Durability for up to 50 million clicks
  • Multi Host Connectivity for up to 4 devices
  • 8 Programmable buttons
  • Extended battery life

Next up is the Razer Pro Type mechanical keyboard, which is designed to keep both typing errors and fatigue to a minimum. There is a soft-touch coating around the keyboard and under the key caps, you will find Razer's own Orange mechanical switches for quiet, tactile keystrokes. Here is the spec sheet for the Razer Pro Type:

  • Ergonomic Design with soft-touch Coating
  • Razer orange mechanical switches
  • Durability for up to 80 million keystrokes
  • Bluetooth and Wireless connectivity for up to 4 devices
  • Fully Programmable keys with macro recording
  • White LED backlit keys

Finally, there is also the Razer Pro Glide surface, which matches the colour scheme of both the mouse and keyboard to keep your desk setup looking good. This is a textured, micro-weave cloth surface with high density foam backing measuring in at 360x275x3mm.

The Razer Pro Click will be available for  £99.99/$99.99/€109.99. The Razer Pro Type will be available for £139.99/$139.99/€149.99. Finally, the Razer Pro Glide will be available for £9.99/$9.99/€11.99.

KitGuru Says: Razer is well known for its gaming peripherals, so it will be interesting to see if it can also become well known in the productivity/office market too. What do you all think of the Razer Productivity Suite of peripherals?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
