The GTA 6 gameplay reveal is happening on Netflix but it won’t be exclusive for long

Last week, a series of backend updates to the GTA 6 website led many fans to believe that more news would soon be coming. It turns out, they were right. Rockstar has announced plans to show an “extended look” at GTA 6 gameplay later this month.

For some reason though, this gameplay reveal is happening in one of the strangest ways imaginable. Rather than taking to its own YouTube channel, Rockstar has partnered with Netflix for the premiere of GTA 6 gameplay.

As for why Netflix wants in on the action, the company's VP of nonfiction series said that GTA reveals have “become cultural moments in their own right”. So, if you want to see the big GTA 6 gameplay reveal, you'll have to be a Netflix subscriber for the time being.

The gameplay shown will eventually be uploaded to YouTube, several hours after the initial reveal on Netflix, which takes place on August 27th. In total, Netflix is getting about six hours of exclusivity out of this, so I'm not sure they'll be gaining much from it.
