Microsoft Flight Simulator will get VR support this year

Microsoft Flight Simulator is looking great already but there is a hardcore audience of flight simulator players nowadays that have moved on to virtual reality. Asobo Studio previously said that it would look into the possibility of adding VR support and now, it has been confirmed.

Back in October 2019, the devs confirmed that VR support was now a “high priority” for the team. Now in a post on the Xbox Blog, Jorg Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, has confirmed support for VR, TrackIR and a Steam version of the game.

TrackIR is a head tracking technology with six degrees of freedom. Of course, you can also achieve this with a VR headset, such as the HP Reverb G2, which was designed in collaboration with HP, Microsoft and Valve. Naturally, other VR headsets will also be supported.

Finally, as anticipated, Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC and Steam on the same date- 18th August. TrackIR support will be there on day one, but VR support will take a bit longer, shipping later this year.

KitGuru Says: VR support was the one thing missing from Microsoft's excellent looking return to Flight Simulator, so this is great news. Are any of you planning on playing the new Microsoft Flight Simulator later this year?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
