Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ promises up to 35% faster charging

Qualcomm has introduced a new and faster charging technology, called Quick Charge 3+. The new standard makes it possible to deliver faster charging at a lower price point.

The first chips to feature Quick Charge 3+ will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G, followed by more Snapdragon platforms throughout 2020. Qualcomm says that Quick Charge 3+ will be able to charge from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes, accomplishing that feat “35% faster and 9 degrees Celsius cooler comparing to previous generations”.

Quick Charge 3+ will support industry standard USB type A-to-type C and will be backward compatible with previous-generation Quick Charge devices. So far it's known that Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Lite Zoom will feature the new charging technology and it's expected that many more mid-range phones will be equipped with Quick Charge 3+ before the end of 2020.
