Ghost Recon: Wildlands native current-gen upgrade detailed

Last month, rumours began circulating surrounding Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, with users reporting that the publisher had accidentally leaked the existence of an upcoming Definitive Edition for current-gen consoles. Ahead of its expected announcement later today, the PlayStation Store prematurely went live with the listing, revealing what appears to be a pretty comprehensive upgrade.

Ahead of Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon anniversary event (set to go live today), the PlayStation Store seemingly accidentally went live with its listing for Wildlands’ Definitive Edition. While it has since been removed, the description for the game included technical details for the upgrade, namely:

• 4K60FPS
• 3D Audio support
• Faster SSD load times
• Adaptive trigger and DualSense Haptics support
• New free ‘The Last Rites’ Story Pack

While Ubisoft have been historically good when it comes to updating their last-gen games for modern consoles, it isn’t often that the publisher goes all the way with a full and bespoke current-gen upgrade. Thus, having a proper current-gen port of one of the best Ghost Recon games is highly welcome to see.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Definitive Edition is expected to be announced (and launched) later today during Ubisoft’s anniversary celebration.
