RAGE 2 has a gameplay trailer, will release in 2019

Following on from the Walmart leak last week, Bethesda essentially confirmed that Rage 2 was coming with a few teases on Twitter. Now today, we have a full announcement trailer, showing off in-game footage and giving us a taste of what's to come.

We'll likely be getting some more details at E3 next month but so far, we've had one live action teaser, and a second gameplay trailer. You can see the gameplay trailer below:

Rage 2 is being developed between both id Software and Avalanche Studios. Id Software was the sole studio behind the first Rage game, which arrived many years ago at this point. With Rage 2, the team seems to be going in a different direction, emphasising the crazy action set pieces that Avalanche is known for from games like Just Cause and Mad Max.

The final bit of information we have for now is the release window. Bethesda has been making a habit of only announcing games when it is confident that they'll launch within a year. Rage 2 is currently set to release on the PC, Xbox One and PS4 at some point in 2019, likely before next year's E3.

KitGuru Says: Rage 2 seems like a soft reboot to me, but either way, it certainly looks like a lot of fun. Did many of you play Rage back when it first released? Combining DOOM's shooting mechanics with an open world post-apocalyptic adventure seems like a good way to go for a sequel.
