Atomfall to receive a TV adaptation in the wake of the game’s success

Rebellion Developments are known best for their work on the Sniper Elite franchise, having released 5 mainline entries in the series alongside a bunch of spin-offs. Going in a different direction however, the team released their new IP – the first-person survival action shooter ‘Atomfall’ – last year to a wave of success. Now, as revealed by Rebellion, the game is officially being adapted into a TV show.

As reported by the publication Deadline, Rebellion and Two Brothers Pictures are joining forces to develop a TV show based on last year’s hit survival shooter Atomfall. As of now, details on the project remain light, with the only confirmed details being that the show will be written by Two Brothers Pictures founders Harry and Jack Williams.

For the uninitiated, Atomfall is a rather unique first-person survival action game which “blends post-war Britain with Cold War paranoia, folk horror, and elements of classic British sci-fi like Day of the Triffids, Doctor Who and The Prisoner, to create an immersive and thrilling gameplay experience.”

Upon its release, the game was an immediate success, amassing millions of players and quickly turning a profit. While critic reviews for the title were somewhat mixed, the general audience came to appreciate the title more, owing to the game’s mystery, exploration and overall vibes.

Given the unique premise of Atomfall, it should be ripe for a live-action TV adaptation – as long as they manage to successfully translate the game’s tone and sense of intrigue.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
