Xbox One to get Windows 10 Universal Apps

Microsoft made some huge changes to the Xbox One last year with the launch of ‘the new Xbox One Experience', which changed the entire software layout and updated the operating system to Windows 10. Now, it looks like Universal App support could be on the way for the console fairly soon.

This week, Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella spoke at a developer event in Madrid, at which he apparently confirmed Universal App support for the Xbox One, according to a report from Windows Central. 

Nadella didn't say specifically when universal app support would be arriving for the Xbox One and we don't know if the console will get its own version of the Windows Store, or if cross-platform apps will be added to the current list of apps on the Xbox One store.

Aside from that, Microsoft is also still apparently working on streaming PC games to the Xbox, as well as keyboard and mouse support for the console.

KitGuru Says: Microsoft has been blurring the lines between console and PC over the last year or so and this seems to be the next step in that. I do wonder if there will be any restrictions on apps for the Xbox though.
