ASUS is looking to shake up the gaming industry with its latest offering – the ROG Ally handheld. This cutting-edge device is slated for worldwide release, and rumours suggest it could hit the market sooner than expected.
Initially announced as an April's fool joke, the ROG Ally is coming to market. According to ROG Global's latest tweet, it will release worldwide (and possibly sooner than you expect). The brand didn't share a specific release date. However, rumours claim the console will release later this quarter.

The ROG Ally console comes following the success of the Steam Deck. On paper, it's superior in almost every regard. For the screen, there's a 7-inch display with a 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The CPU and GPU should also be better than Steam Deck's, as it's expected to feature a Zen4 CPU and an RDNA3 GPU. It's also smaller and lighter, measuring 280 x 133 x 39 mm and weighing 608 grams. Linus Tech Tips, who had the chance to try the console, claims that the ROG Ally delivers twice the performance of the Steam Deck at 35W and 50% more in 15W mode.
As for the ROG Ally's pricing, rumours suggest it will hit shelves at around $650-$700. However, ASUS has yet to confirm the full specs, release date, and pricing, so we'll have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Based on its rumoured spec sheet, Asus' console looks impressive. But in the end, its success will come down to its price point. If Asus prices the console similar to the 512GB Steam Deck, Valve may have to reduce the price of its console to make it stand out.
