Slime Rancher 2 is leaving Early Access this September

Slime Rancher 2 is the sequel to the cult-hit farming simulator which sees you grow and take care of different types of Slimes. Launched in Early Access all the way back in 2022, the sequel has adopted a similar development cycle to the first game – to great success. Now, after nearly 3 years in Early Access, Slime Rancher 2 is almost ready to hit 1.0.

Making the announcement on their Steam page, the team at Monomi Park wrote: “Save the date, Ranchers! Slime Rancher 2 is officially leaving Early Access!”

Arriving on the 23rd of September, version 1.0 will bring with it a number of major additions, including:

  • Drones “now with a Quantum twist”
  • New gadgets
  • New upgrades
  • New regions
  • “And more”

Of course, this is alongside all of the many updates and additions which have already been implemented over the past few years.

Since its Early Access release, Slime Rancher 2 has received just as much praise as its predecessor, with the game currently sitting at a 94% Very Positive all-time rating on Steam.

Though not arriving until January next year, those on PS5 or Xbox wanting a physical edition of Slime Rancher 2 will be able to pre-order from IAm8Bit starting now.
