iOS 9 will switch to mobile data if WiFi plays up

Apple is currently working on iOS 9, which will launch towards the end of October alongside the new set of iPhones for this year. We've already got wind of a few new features heading our way thanks to the public beta test, though Apple still has plenty more to share. Today the company revealed its new WiFi tool, which will automatically switch your iPhone over to a cellular data connection should your WiFi be acting up.

The new tool can be found within the latest iOS 9 beta, which launched yesterday. WiFi Assist could end up helping users on unreliable public connections, such as those found on trains, at events or in busy areas.

iOS 9 still has just over a month before it goes public so there is still time for Apple to make a few more tweaks. We know that Apple is planning its own news app, the Safari browser will support adblock, Siri will be improved a bit in order to stay competitive against the likes of Cortana and Google Now.

Apple Maps, which was introduced back in iOS 6, will also be improved, with new public transit details and better route tracking. You can grab the iOS 9 public beta now but you would be better off waiting until next month at Apple's official launch.
