The P531 may be Arctic’s first attempt at a gaming headset but you certainly wouldn’t know it! Sound quality is up there with the best and the surround-sound and vibration unit really transform the overall gaming experience.
I also appreciate the versatility of the P531; not only is it great for gaming, it provides a great movie experience and is also well-suited to music playback. My first port of call when testing movie playback is the opening sequence of The Dark Knight and I was so taken aback by the experience I actually ended up watching the entire film.
In fact, the only area in which the P531 lacks at all is in design and build – it isn’t the most attractive headset we’ve tested. It may not ooze refinement like one of SteelSeries’ headsets but the build-quality is more than acceptable for the price.
By far the most impressive feature of this headset is the price. We couldn’t find it on sale anywhere yet as it has only just been released but Arctic quote a recommended retail price just shy of €50 which translates into around £40 at the time of press. At this price it is truly a steal and I would recommend it to any gamer looking for a surround-sound gaming headset.
KitGuru Says: One of the best surround-sound gaming headsets out there with a price that is affordable for all.
