EA reveals they are bringing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to last-gen consoles

One of the biggest games of the year so far has been Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, publisher EA has now revealed that they are planning to bring the title to last-gen systems.

As reported by industry analyst Benji-Sales, during EA’s most recent earnings call the publisher revealed that Respawn Entertainment is currently working on bringing the current-gen exclusive Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This announcement comes as a surprise, especially due to the fact that Jedi Survivor on the PS5 and Series X|S struggled with a number of performance woes at launch. It is hard to imagine what compromises will be required to get the game to run on these now almost decade-old consoles.

All that said, it is encouraging at least to see that Respawn were given the time needed to focus on the current-gen systems, only opting to work on backporting the game to the PS4 and Xbox One long after its initial release.

It will be interesting to see how long the game takes to find its way to these older systems – and just how well it will look/perform.
