Until Dawn Remake studio Ballistic Moon has “effectively closed” according to reports

It seems as though the Until Dawn series is slowly becoming a bit of a cursed IP, with any and all who touch the project suffering from lay-offs. Following the release of the Until Dawn remake last year, Ballistic Moon – the team behind the project – have now reportedly been “effectively closed.”

In a report by known leakers insider-gaming, the publication revealed that Ballistic Moon Studios – the team behind last year’s Until Dawn Remake – are now little more than a skeleton crew, with sources claiming:

“People are sharing bugs they've found in the game to make the team aware but there is no one working on patch support for the game anymore. The studio has effectively closed now.”

According to the sources, all that remains from Ballistic Moon are the studio founders and “possibly” a handful of employees “at most.”

In terms of why things panned out the way they have, the studio was said to have been pitching projects while looking for funding – but unfortunately nothing managed to stick.

Given the fact that the Until Dawn remake was the first project from Ballistic Moon (a studio founded by ex-Supermassive Games devs), the current state of the studio is unfortunate to see. Hopefully the team are able to build themselves back up (though given the volatility of the industry this seems unlikely).

KitGuru says: Are you surprised by the news? Did you have high hopes for Ballistic Moon? Is the Until Dawn IP dead and buried at this point, or can the upcoming film save it? Let us know down below.
