Xbox reaffirms 2024 release for Avowed alongside new gameplay showcase

Avowed is an upcoming RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, the makers of Star Wars: KOTOR; Pillars of Eternity; Grounded; South Park: The Stick of Truth and of course Fallout: New Vegas. Set in the same universe as PoE, the 2024 title gave us another look at gameplay – though no concrete release date.

Listed as being a Story Trailer, the recent showing for Avowed did also include a number of snippets of gameplay, showing off the variety of weapons, powers and play styles.

We have yet to get a full walkthrough of what moment-to-moment gameplay looks like, but with no release date – nor a release window – in sight, Obsidian clearly still have plenty more to show between now and its launch.

Though initially viewed by many as being Obsidian’s take on The Elder Scrolls, it has become clear that Avowed is going for a slightly different kind of experience/vibe. Hopefully the game doesn’t eventually get pushed back to 2025.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Avowed? Does the gameplay look compelling? Do you think they’ll manage to hit the 2024 release window? Let us know down below.
