Apple employee pleads not guilty

We published a story yesterday on the Apple executive who was under fire for accepting kick backs for leaking sensitive information. Plantiff Mr Devine yesterday pleaded not guilty to these accusations.

Paul Shin Devine was lead in handcuffs and an orange prison suit to appear in Federal court in San Jose with his lawyer. Prosecutors have said he is a flight risk and shouldn't be granted bail. He was charged in a federal grand jury indictment last Wednesday with 23 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and for accepting kick backs. Apple have accused him of receiving over $1 million in payments and bribes across several years from firms who supply iPhone and iPod accessories.

A federal prosecutor argued that no bail conditions would ensure Mr. Devine's appearance for trial and U.S. Magistrate Howard Lloyd has set another bail hearing for Wednesday. A lawyer for Mr Devine has declined to comment outside of court.
