Intel releases online platforming game ‘Pixel Pat’

It has been a year since Pat Gelsinger re-joined Intel as the company's CEO. To commemorate the date, Intel has launched a free 8-bit platformer starring Gelsinger, playable in any browser.

The game is aptly titled ‘Pixel Pat', putting players in the shoes of Pat Gelsinger inside a semiconductor plant. While playing the game, your objective is to collect as many wafers as possible. As you do it, the game will prompt you with interesting facts about Intel, including key innovations from the company's history, various milestones and other trivia.

This 2D game is straightforward, and you'll only need a mouse (or mousepad) to play it, much like Google Chrome's Dinosaur game. Gelsinger will run automatically, and all you have to do is catch the wafers (worth 1 or 10 points), hearts (extra lives) and light bulbs (trivia) and dodge the bugs. Moreover, cleanroom suits give you invincibility, so grab one if you find it. As you progress through the game, the speed increases to make it more difficult.
