EIZO Introduce the ColorEdge CS2740 hardware calibrated monitor

EIZO has announced the introduction of a new ColorEdge CS2740 monitor designed for photographers and videographers to accurately display images of true to life colour and sharpness with consistent results via hardware calibration.

The new EIZO ColorEdge CS2740 monitor features an ultra-sharp 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution display that is measured and optimally configured from the factory to ensure accurate true to life image reproduction for professional photo and video image editing scenarios. The factory configuration process removes differences in brightness and partial unnecessary colours to accurately display what the camera has saved.

A hardware calibration process that can complete in 90 seconds, consistently retains pre-set factory settings to ensure the monitor provides image perfection throughout its entire life cycle. The EIZO CS2740 covers traditional gamuts such as 99% Adobe RGB with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and typical brightness of 350 cd/m2.

Thanks to four downstream USB and a single USB Type-C upstream port, a range of USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice and external HDDs can be connected directly to the monitor. Users can then connect a laptop to the device to display content on the screen while providing 60W power to charge the laptop or notebook. The EIZO ColorEdge CS2740 also includes HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity for connecting to a range of other devices.

The EIZO ColorNavigator 7 hardware calibration software can be downloaded from the EIZO website and combined with the EIZO EX4 calibration sensor, the monitor can be hardware calibrated in 90 seconds. An optional CH2700 light protection shield can also be purchase separately and is simply attached to the monitor magnetically.

EIZO was planning on showcasing the monitor this weekend, during The Photography Show at the Birmingham NEC. However, since the show has been cancelled, EIZO has confirmed it will be on the company’s stand at the rescheduled event in September.
