The Division 2 crossplay update will begin rolling out in November

In celebration of the franchise’s 10th anniversary, Ubisoft announced earlier this year that The Division 2 would be seeing a suite of updates throughout the course of 2026, bringing new modes, DLC and more. Amongst the list of updates included the promise to bring crossplay to both consoles and PC – the details of which have now been officially shared.

Alongside the official showcase of The Division 2’s upcoming Echoes of Central Park DLC, the team at Ubisoft offered an explanation as to when and how the long-awaited crossplay functionality will be rolled out.

Given that the game was not designed with crossplay in mind, the update will be slowly rolled out over the course of November; the timeline of which appears as follows:

• 3rd November: Crossplay toggle will be added, but will be non-functioning
• 10th November: PC players will be migrated into the new environment / servers
• Mid-November: Xbox and PlayStation players will be added to the crossplay pool (assuming there aren’t any issues)
• Rest of November: Used to fix any leftover issues

As mentioned, the rollout is a bit of an odd one due to the fact that The Division 2 was not built with crossplay from the off. That said, it is encouraging to see Ubisoft being transparent with the entire process.

Speaking of, there may be one other issue which players might encounter as a result of the merging of platforms. According to Ubisoft, if there are two clans with the same name on both PC and console, one of the two will have its name automatically changed so as to not conflict with one another. You will of course be able to alter the name after-the-fact.

While far from the simplest of implementations, it is welcome nonetheless to see Ubisoft putting a great deal of care and thought into the upcoming update. Hopefully the rollout of crossplay manages to go smoothly.
