LG starts mass production of 720Hz Gaming OLED panel

LG has announced the launch and mass production of a 24.5-inch 720Hz Gaming OLED panel designed specifically for esports. The Full HD display delivers a 720Hz refresh rate alongside a 0.02ms response time, making it the highest refresh rate currently available in Full HD OLED displays.

To achieve 720Hz at 1920×1080 resolution, LG developed a proprietary driving algorithm that manages the system from panel design to driving controls. Each self-emissive pixel emits light independently, reducing motion blur and ghosting in fast-paced titles such as first-person shooters and racing games.

Asus is the first manufacturer to adopt the panel in its upcoming ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace monitor. Priced at $1,099, this display has been chosen as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026 tournament.

Looking ahead, LG intends to expand its gaming OLED lineup across screen sizes ranging from the 20-inch to 40-inch class. Selected models in the range will incorporate proprietary Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology alongside AI transformation initiatives across display development.
