Battlefield 6 Season 5 officially arrives next week

Upon its initial launch last year, Battlefield 6 quickly became one of the best performing games of 2025, outpacing Call of Duty Black Ops 7 while going on to sell in excess of 10 million copies within its first month on the market. Though the game’s post-launch support has been somewhat inconsistent, Battlefield Studios looks set to kick off year 2 with a number of exciting additions during Season 5.

Releasing their Season 5 gameplay trailer, EA / BF Studios offered fans a look at two of the 3 new maps coming with the upcoming update, namely the Vegas Strip and Area 51.

Alongside this, the team also confirmed that Season 5 (which is set to go live on the 13th of October) will bring with it:

  • 6 new weapons
  • 2 new vehicles
  • Operation High Roller
  • 2 reworked maps [Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City]
  • REDSEC Rapid Royale
  • Platoons (aka clans)
  • Server Browser
  • Limited-time Halloween event

The Halloween event in particular appears to be rather interesting, with EA teasing a Dead Space collab of some kind. The extent of this crossover remains to be seen, but based on the trailer (and some previous datamines) it will include operator cosmetics as well as a dedicated Halloween mode.

As with most Battlefield trailers, Season 5 looks to be fast-paced, frenetic and fun, with the Vegas Strip being especially visually pleasing. Of course, how these maps will play is far more important, and so we will have to wait and see when Season 5 goes live beginning on the 13th of October.
