Sony unceremoniously delists Destruction AllStars as servers are shut down

Destruction AllStars was one of the earlier first-party PlayStation 5 exclusives, with the Twisted Metal styled destruction derby title being offered for ‘free’ at launch as part of PlayStation Plus. Even with this increased awareness, Destruction AllStars failed to make a splash – eventually leading to the studio being shut down. Even so, this latest announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, with Sony confirming the unceremonious delisting and server shut down of Destruction AllStars.

In a surprise announcement made to the game’s page, Sony confirmed that “multiplayer services for Destruction AllStars have been taken offline,” with its single-player modes remaining playable “until Wednesday November 25, 2026” – at which point only the limited Arcade Mode will be accessible.

As part of this, the game has already been delisted, meaning if you don’t already own it then it’s too late.

While far from perfect, Destruction AllStars was a pretty fun destruction derby experience, featuring satisfying driving and some unique elements. Unfortunately, a mixed reception towards the game’s art style and characters did not do it any favours pre-launch.

Regardless, it is disappointing to see yet another game being lost to time – especially with no prior warning.

KitGuru says: What did you think of AllStars? Did it have potential? Would the game have succeeded if it was a proper brand new Twisted Metal instead? Let us know down below.
