MediaTek announces Dimensity 1000+ SoC for flagship phones

Hot on the heels of its Helio G85 announcement, MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 1000+ SoC with support for 5G and 144Hz displays. The chip is designed to offer powerful performance as well as “best-in-class power efficiency”.

MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+ is fitted with an octa-core CPU manufactured using 7nm technology, with four Arm Cortex-A77 cores at up to 2.6GHz and four Arm Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz. The smartphone is also equipped with HyperEngine 2.0, which is software made to optimise gaming performance. Dimensity 1000+ comes with support for 144Hz displays, as high refresh displays are starting to become standard for flagship phones.

The Dimensity 1000+ also comes with MiraVision Video Playback Enhancements which means that the chip adjusts contrast, sharpness and colour levels on a per-frame basis, to enhance the picture quality of 4K videos and streams in real time. It also supports a camera sensor size of up to 80 MP.

MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+ will be the world's first chip to support Dual 5G SIM. According to the product's press release, “multiple devices powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ will be available in the market soon.”
